Electricity Bill Assistance Program

Beginning Wednesday, January 3, 2024, the Community Council of South Central Texas will be at Mountain View Lodge to help with home energy bills. The program is presented by Mobile Comunidad.

The Council will be on-site at the Lodge every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help area families get signed up for financial aid with heating and electricity bills. To qualify, households must earn at most 150% of the Federal Poverty Guideline figure. Mobile Comunidad can assist if residents have questions about this number, which is based on household size and income.

During the Council’s sign-up program, Mobile Comunidad will have personal care items to give away to applicants. The events will be held in the dining room of Mountain View Café at the Lodge.

Attention:

Those applying for help must bring all of the following documents with them to the program:

  • U.S. birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card, or certificate of naturalization for everyone in the home.
  • Social security cards for everyone in the household.
  • Driver’s license for everyone age 16 and up.
  • Proof of income for the past 30 days or award letters.
  • Electric, gas, and water billing history for the past 12 months.
